California Watersheds and Coastal Areas
California Watershed Protection FundThe California Watershed Protection Fund accepts applications for projects designed to benefit the water quality and ecosystem of San Francisco Bay Estuary, the San Francisco-San Joaquin Bay/Delta, and tributaries to the Bay/Delta Water system. Based on available funding, the Foundation may also be able to accept proposals for projects related to the Russian River, Eel River, and Southern California watersheds.

The California Watershed Protection Fund is currently accepting Letters of Inquiry/Proposals related to: San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary; Sacramento River; San Joaquin River; Russian River; Santa Clara River.
Review Deadlines
The California Watershed Protection Fund has grant cycles twice per year. Letters of Inquiry are welcomed throughout the year. Inquiries received by February 15 are reviewed for the Spring/Summer grant cycle. Letters received by August 15 are reviewed for the Fall/Winter grant cycle.

Submit a letter of inquiry so that we can determine if the proposal fits within the requirements of any of our available watershed funds.
Submit Proposal
Based on your letter of inquiry, the Rose Foundation may invite a full proposal. Please do not submit a full proposal unless invited to do so. If you are invited to submit a full proposal, please follow these directions.
Submit Grant Report One Year After Receiving a Grant
If your group is awarded a grant, you must provide a final grant report within one year of receiving the money, or before your group can receive additional funding.
