  • Describe how you will measure and evaluate progress towards the specified outcomes.
  • Specific funding request from the Rose Foundation and overall project budget.
  • Organizational budget for the current year.
  • Income/expense statement and balance sheet for the most recently completed fiscal year.
  • List of primary funders. Include the top three funders for the most recently completed year, as well as the primary funders for the proposed project (indicating their status as committed, pending, or projected). Also, please describe how your group plans to raise support from its constituency.
  • Description of lead project staff.

  • (optional) Press clippings or other material describing the organization and key past accomplishments.
  • (optional) Letters of reference (limit 3).

If you submit a cover letter with the proposal, the letter should be addressed to the executive director. Proposals must be received by April 1st (this follows the February 15th inquiry deadline), or October 1st (this follows the August 15th inquiry deadline). Incomplete proposals will not be considered until complete. Rose staff may require additional information on a case by case basis.

What Happens Next?
Foundation staff will review your proposal to ensure that it is complete. You will receive either a letter or email acknowledgment within three weeks of the proposal deadline. Staff will evaluate your proposal, and the Rose Foundation board of directors will make the final decision. We may or may not contact you during the review period with questions, or with a request for further information. The entire proposal review process, including the board meeting and mailing notification letters, grant contracts and grant payments, is usually concluded usually within two months of the full proposal deadline date.
