Submit Letter of Inquiry
Watershed Protection GrantPlease submit a letter of inquiry of no more than three pages concisely describing each of the following:
- Project: What do you propose to do and how will you do it? When will the work be done? What outcome(s) do you want to achieve?
- Strategy: Why is this project important from an overall standpoint? How does it fit in with other environmental stewardship initiatives?
- Funding: What is the total budget for the project? How much are you seeking from the Rose Foundation? What other funders are you approaching? What is your group's overall budget?
- Organization: Profile the organization requesting funds. What are your major programs? What are the group's significant achievements over the past few years? Is your group a 510(c)(3)? (If not, what is your group's tax status and how does it receive grants?)
This information allows us to determine if the proposal fits within the guidelines of any currently available funds. These inquiries are accepted throughout the year. However, letters of inquiry must be received by February 15 or August 15 to be considered for that grant cycle.
Letters of inquiry should be addressed to the executive director. They may be sent by either regular mail or email.
What Happens Next?
Rose Foundation staff will contact you either by phone or email within two weeks of your letter. At that time, we will either invite a proposal, or advise you that we we must decline a proposal because we do not see a sufficient fit. If we are able to invite a proposal, it will generally be due about 6 weeks after the inquiry deadline.
